The scoreboard is an info screen shown while pressing the Tab key or at the end of a match. It displays player information, server name, team scores, kills, deaths, etc. Information is given about each player, such as what team they are on, how many points they have, and their class.

Information shown

  1. Number of points each team has
  2. Player's avatar
  3. Player's class
  4. Player score (See points table below)
  5. A user's ping. If the player is a bot, it will say 'BOT' instead.
  6. A portrait of the player's current class
  7. The player's name
  8. Assorted gameplay statistics
  9. Map name and Server name

Points

Points are the units for the arbitrary scoring system in Team Fortress 2 Classic and Team Fortress 2, and are awarded for many different actions. Earning different types of points displays different coloured numbers on-screen; red for damage, green for healing, magenta for bonus, and blue for support. Half-points are awarded; for example, assists are worth ½ a point. Half-points aren't shown on the scoreboard, so players must complete two ½-point actions to have their score increase by 1. Two half-points in different categories will not add together to a full point, as the quantity of all types of points are rounded down and added to your total afterwards. Some actions result in points being granted for multiple reasons; for example, killing a fully-charged Medic who is capturing the objective with a headshot awards points in the damage, kill, headshot, support, defense and bonus categories.
