Compound was a variation of Hydro made as a test map for the Deathmatch mode. It takes place on Hydro's Point B, aka the "Bridge", with all other routes closed off.
Compound was added to Team Fortress 2 Classic on the March 8, 2015 1.8.3 update, and was removed on the August 28, 2015 2.0.0 (BETA) update (undocumented change) and was developed by former beta tester OneFourth.
Comparisons from Hydro
While this takes place on Point B, it contains a few differences (and also more buggy spots) than the original map, such as:
- The map now takes place at nighttime rather than the daytime on Hydro
- There is two extremely visible seams on either side of the map relating to both BLU spawns.
- The rocks and general routes surrounding the point have been completely gutted, the control point itself is also removed
- The route to Point A, aka the "Plant", has been completely removed and a new building has appeared in its place, accessible through a new route accessible from the place where said route used to be, now with a doorway opened up from a mirrored left-hand side BLU spawn. The same building on the right-hand side also has a route available into the building, via a new stairway and general walkway where the vent used to be of which leads to a rooftop.
