Classes are the nine playable character classes in Team Fortress 2 Classic, as well as special classes such as the Civilian. Each class has unique stats (movement speed, health) and a set of weapons that afford them various capabilities and gameplay styles. The nine regular classes are divided into three categories: offensive, defensive, and support classes.

Civilian

Special classes are only available in specific game modes.

They cannot be used in regular game modes, unless enabled in the server by setting the tf2c_allow_special_classes cvar to 1. Spies also cannot disguise as them, unless the tf2c_allow_special_classes cvar is set to 2, in which case Spies will be able to disguise as them using the disguise command. Special classes won't show up in the Disguise Kit.

Stats

In Team Fortress 2 Classic, every class has a unique speed or health.
Players can be Overhealed by Medic's Secondaries, which increase a classes' health to 150% of their base health. The Hunting Revolver increases Sniper's health by 25hp and the Uberspritze decreases Medic's health by 10hp.
Running Backwards reduces speed to 90% of the classes' speed. Crouching reduces speed to 33% of the classes' speed. Swimming reduces speed to 80% of the classes' speed. Revving decreases Heavy's speed to 48% of his base speed. Scoping decreases Sniper's speed. The Sniper Rifle decreases his speed to 27% of his base, the Hunting Revolver to 40% and the Huntsman to 53%.
