The '''Scattergun''' is the stock primary weapon of the [[Scout]]. It's a short, double-barreled, lever-action shotgun with metal sights, a dark wooden handle and grip.
 
Though the Scattergun may sport a unique appearance, in almost every way it is functionally identical to the multi-class [[Shotgun]]. Not only does it fire the same amount of pellets for each shot, it also does the same base damage of 6 and has the same ammo capacity in both the gun itself and in reserve. The only difference between the Scattergun and [[Shotgun]] is the Scatterguns increased damage ramp-up at distances of under 512 Hammer units, this allows the user to deal more damage with this weapon at close range, at maximum ramp-up a single pellet can deal 10.5 points of damage.
 
Due to the Scatterguns innate classification of being a burst fire weapon, random bullet spread will be applied to this weapon so long as the server it's used on has this feature enabled via the console.
